EOI for the Cafe – Closing 29 Oct 2025 9pm

Expressions of Interest are sought from experienced individuals and companies interested in running a cafe at the premises of CIC. These conditions will be the basis for negotiations. When submitting your Expression of Interest, please include the following details:

  • Business Name and ABN
  • Name and Contact Details of the Operator (Phone number and email address preferred)
  • Brief Summary of Previous Café or Hospitality Experience (Include any relevant qualifications, locations operated, and duration)
  • Proposed Menu (Types of drinks and food you intend to serve)
  • Operational Plan (A short outline of how you envision running the café)

CIC Cafe Requirements and Conditions (Please read and agree to the terms and conditions before you submit any proposal):

  1. The operator must commit to running the cafe over a trial period of 3 to 6 months or as mutually agreed.
  2. The operator must operate a functioning cafe in the dining hall over the course of a few days a week, as determined feasible by the operator.
  3. The cafe must cater for a general customer base but can also, where there is demand, provide a range of items across Middle Eastern and sub-continental cuisines.
  4. The operator carries all capital costs.
  5. The running costs during the trial period must be borne by the operator.
  6. CIC will not charge any utility usage charges over the trial period.
  7. CIC will not charge a fee or apply any sales commission for the trial period.
  8. The operator does not control or have any rights over the CIC hall facility.
  9. The operator can hire the hall for events and functions at CIC’s published rates or as agreed by the CIC on a case-by-case basis.
  10. The operator must allow hall hired privately by individuals on Saturday or Sunday full access to the kitchen and dining hall however, they will not use the Cafe’s capital equipment. This has to be negotiated with the cafe operator.
  11. At the end of the trial period, the operator can:
    • a. Walk away
    • b. Can negotiate for a commercial arrangement with CIC.
