In the ACT, the Human Rights Commission Act 2005 reflects the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations as the ACT Child Safe Standards. Implementing these territory-based requirements is equivalent to implementing the National Principles. Child Safe Commitment
CIC is working towards protecting and promoting the rights, safety, and well-being of children and young people.
We are reviewing and implementing steps to adhere to the 10 Child Safe Standards in a culturally safe and inclusive manner for all children and young people, including by respecting and valuing the diverse and unique identities of children, teenagers, young people, and their families.
These efforts are the start to create long-term cultural change to a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse. They will seek to ensure all employees, volunteers, contracted staff, and executives uphold their responsibilities.
